Festive Runs Roundup

The festive period was a busy one for Worthing Striders, with members making the most of the extra time off by fitting in plenty of running, travelling to different events, and enjoying the social side of the club.

Christmas Day started in true Striders style with festive Parkruns across the country. Pippa travelled to Queen Elizabeth parkrun, taking on the scenic woodland route, while Ruth ran at Millfield. Michelle M. headed south to Lee-on-the-Solent, enjoying a coastal parkrun with a festive atmosphere. Closer to home, Striders were well represented at Worthing and Littlehampton, keeping the local events lively on Christmas morning.

On Boxing Day, some Striders swapped pavements for trails, heading out on a cold and muddy trail run. Winter conditions added to the challenge, but it was a great way to stretch the legs and enjoy some off-road running after the festivities.
Saturday saw a return to parkrun action, with Striders spread far and wide. There was good representation at Worthing, Littlehampton, Bognor, and Horsham, with some excellent individual performances. Becky recorded a personal best at Worthing, while Ella also enjoyed a strong run and a PB at Littlehampton — great results on busy, competitive courses.

The running continued on Sunday, with Michelle M taking on the Winter X, completing an impressive 30km in tough winter conditions. To round off the festive running, Monday saw a strong group of Striders head to Shoreham for the Darklink, a challenging event that finished the festive period on a high note. A special mention to Paul, who ran a PB on the night.
A fantastic festive period of running, from parkruns and trails to longer distances and evening events. Well done to everyone who got involved and kept the Striders spirit going throughout the holidays.
